Practical Synthesis
The practical synthesis that accompanies the written element is titled 'I'm Trendy So What?', this title relates to the attitudes within and towards graphic design that I discovered when conducting my research. The title also relates to an interview with Trend List in Komfort mag 8 in which they speak about the use of trends within graphic design and the role their platform has.
The practical synthesis focuses around a series of gig posters created using the app trend generator to prove that the industry is merely focused on style and that the app enables users to become instant graphic designers with no knowledge or expertise in the industry yet still generate convincing work.
To accompany the series of gig posters there will be an accompanying publication that is an introduction to the platform Trend List and Trend Generator from the point of the creators and not the critics. This is so that users of this publications views aren't swayed straight off by the critics but they form an understanding from the information and build their own opinions through the experiment.
Overall the project isn't picking faults with the platforms, it is simply proving what was discussed in the written element is true and the results back it up...
