Similar to the Graik BS experiment conducted by Amy West, I have a similar idea to conduct a social experiment amongst peers in college by creating a poster series using the Trend Generator app and passing them off as my own. As part of the experiment the posters will be critiqued and the feedback recieved will illustrate if in fact anyone who uses the app can become an instant graphic designer. I will then reveal the truth behind the design and then take their feedback on the app and their opinions.
This task will synthesise with what my written piece has investigated; the fact that the focus on trends through platforms and how this affects users perceptions is impacting on the professionalism within the graphic design industry.
I have already written up a brief for my extended practice revolving around promotional poster redesign that can be used in conjunction with this idea so that I don't have to write up a new idea and all the information is already there for me.
