What's the relationship between them?

Practice - Context
Practice - Professionalism
(both require evaluation)

PPP= reflection, evaluate against ambitions
Context= Analysis

When analysing design what are our judgements based on...

  • Layout
  • Composition
  • Colou
  • Communication
  • Context
  • Concept
  • Legibility
  • Function
  • Audience
  • Design skill (quality/execution)
  • Non visual content
  • Visual content
  • Media and method of production
Critique- (Greek) to judge, distinguish, select

Assessment criteria helps work out good/bad.
A critique is implicit/subject to opinion
Criteria helps judge good/bad, understanding criteria helps move forward.

Feedback

Good feedback- things to work from, constructive criticism
Bad feedback- 'nice' 'I like that'

Criteria

Can't be about me and what I like. Think about the feedback from set criteria and not about what I like, What's the criteria by which we make judgements?

D- describe (what can you see)
I- interpret (what's it about)
E- evaluate (how good is it)
T- theorise (how could it be improved)
