Design for web- Dieter Rams archive

Das Program
Whilst researching products to include in my blog I came across an archival website of all popular Rams products whilst he was director of design at Braun between 1955-1995 called 'das program'. I found this website very helpful and different to all the others I have found about Dieter Rams and his products, this one didn't give me a bio or throw information at me, it simply showed me the products that made him who he is with the name, designers, year and a small background of the product. This is a similar concept to what I aim to create but mine would be more illustrative as opposed to photos but this website would be a great to link viewers from mine to view photographs and the product in more detail.

The layout of the website is also very helpful because it gives me more of an insight of how to represent the Rams in a similar aesthetic to his own. I've drawn a grid over the website to aid me in what a successful layout on this topic should look like.

Homepage
The homepage is laid out in a grid format to make navigation as easy as possible. It uses a grey tonal palette which is all inspired by the tones used on Dieter Rams Braun products. When you hover over a column colour overlaid photos are revealed, each category is represented by a bright contrasting colour, for example electrical is represented by yellow.
Grid
From drawing the grid on top of the website it reveals the grid of four that is easily noticable without it, it's all very simple and structured.

Electrical
Each section is then laid into a three column wide grid which has an infinite scroll until you run out of products, the photos are colour overlaid in their category specific colour and when hovered over return to a normal photograph. Also whilst hovering the name and date of the product appear in the bottom right hand corner which is useful as you can retrieve key info without going onto another page.
 Grid
The grid is exactly the same as the homepage throughout each category keeping things simple, less confusing and adding that.
constant structure to the website which is evident through all of Rams designs
